Acceptance of terms
By accessing or using studywithstem.github.io (the "Site") — whether by browsing, downloading infographics, using our tools, or subscribing to our newsletter — you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms") and by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. These Terms form a legally binding agreement between you and StudyWithSTEM ("we", "us", or "our").
If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, your sole remedy is to stop using the Site immediately. If you access the Site on behalf of a school, organisation, or employer, you confirm that you have the authority to accept these Terms on their behalf.
Because these Terms may change over time (see Section 17), your continued use of the Site after a revised version is posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
Definitions
The following capitalised terms have the meanings below wherever they appear in these Terms:
- "Site" — studywithstem.github.io, including all pages, files, and downloads published under that domain.
- "Content" — everything we publish on the Site: infographics, posters, illustrations, written posts, and other material.
- "Tools" — interactive features such as calculators, converters, and other utilities offered on the Site.
- "Services" — the Site, the Content, the Tools, and the Newsletter, collectively.
- "Newsletter" — the periodic email updates we send to subscribers who have opted in.
- "Membership" — voluntary financial support contributed through Buy Me a Coffee, a third-party platform.
- "You" / "your" — any person who visits, views, downloads, or otherwise uses the Services.
About the service
StudyWithSTEM publishes STEM infographics, study tools, and posts covering biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, and robotics. Content is provided for educational and personal reference purposes and is updated at our own pace, including a regular Friday release schedule where possible.
The Site is an independent, non-accredited project. Nothing on it constitutes an offer of formal education, and using the Services does not grant academic credit, certification, or any professional qualification.
We may add, change, suspend, or remove any part of the Services — including specific posters, tools, or features — at any time and without notice. We do not guarantee that any particular piece of Content will remain available, or that the Site will be uninterrupted or error-free.
Eligibility & age requirements
The Site is intended for students, teachers, and lifelong learners of any background. Public areas of the Site may be used at any age, but some features carry age requirements:
- To subscribe to the Newsletter, you must be at least 13 years old — or older where your jurisdiction sets a higher digital-consent age (for example, 16 in much of the European Economic Area under the GDPR).
- To make a payment through Buy Me a Coffee, you must be old enough to lawfully make financial transactions in your jurisdiction, or have the permission of a parent or guardian.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has subscribed or contributed without appropriate consent, contact us at studywithstem@gmail.com and we will remove their details promptly.
Using our content
Infographics, posters, and written posts on this Site are made available for personal, non-commercial, educational use. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use our Content.
You may:
- View, download, cache, and print our infographics and posters for your own study or revision.
- Print and photocopy them as classroom handouts or teaching materials within your own school, tuition class, or educational setting.
- Share direct links to pages on this Site — on social media, in emails, and in class groups.
- Repost a single image in a non-commercial context (such as a student club page or personal study blog), provided it stays unmodified, our name or logo remains visible, and you credit StudyWithSTEM with a link back to the original page.
You may not:
- Resell, sublicense, or repackage our Content — in whole or in part — as your own, or as part of a paid product, course, book, or service.
- Rehost or bulk-mirror our files or images on another website, file-sharing service, or repository without prior written permission.
- Remove, crop out, or obscure watermarks, credits, or the StudyWithSTEM name on any Content.
- Use our Content to train, fine-tune, or evaluate commercial machine-learning or AI models without written permission.
- Present our Content as your own work in any academic, professional, or commercial context.
If you would like to use our Content in a way that goes beyond the licence above — for example in a published textbook, commercial course, or app — request written permission at studywithstem@gmail.com. We are friendly about reasonable requests, especially educational ones, but permission must be granted in writing before use.
Our Tools are covered by these Terms too. Tool outputs (such as calculated results) are yours to use; the Tools themselves remain ours.
Membership & payments
"Become a member" links on this Site direct to Buy Me a Coffee, a third-party platform. Any contribution made there is a voluntary payment to support ongoing work on the Site.
- All payment processing, card handling, recurring billing, and refunds are handled entirely by Buy Me a Coffee under their own terms and policies — we never see or store your payment details.
- A contribution is support, not a purchase. It does not create a subscription in the legal sense, does not guarantee any specific future content, and does not entitle you to a refund, except where required by law or by Buy Me a Coffee's own policies.
- Any member perks (such as early access or behind-the-scenes posts) are courtesies offered on the platform and may be introduced, changed, or withdrawn at any time.
- Prices, tiers, and availability of memberships are set on Buy Me a Coffee and may change without notice.
- You can cancel a recurring membership at any time through your Buy Me a Coffee account; cancellation takes effect according to their platform rules.
Because payments occur on a third-party platform, billing disputes should be raised with Buy Me a Coffee first — though you are always welcome to copy us in at studywithstem@gmail.com.
Copyright & intellectual property
Unless a source is otherwise credited, all original designs, illustrations, layouts, graphics, and written content on this Site are the intellectual property of StudyWithSTEM and are protected by copyright law in most jurisdictions around the world.
A few clarifications worth stating plainly:
- Scientific and mathematical facts, formulas, and constants belong to everyone. Our copyright covers our particular expression of them — the illustration, layout, explanation, and design — not the underlying knowledge.
- The StudyWithSTEM name and logo may not be used in a way that implies endorsement, partnership, or affiliation with any third party without our written permission.
- Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of any Content to you, and no licence is granted except the limited one described in Section 05.
- If any tool on the Site incorporates open-source components, that code remains governed by its own upstream licence, which takes precedence for that component.
We respect the rights of other creators and expect the same courtesy in return. If you believe something on this Site infringes your copyright, send a notice to studywithstem@gmail.com including: identification of the original work, the URL of the allegedly infringing material, your contact details, a statement of your good-faith belief that the use is unauthorised, and a statement that the information is accurate and that you are the owner or authorised to act on the owner's behalf. We will review and respond to valid notices promptly. See our Copyrights page for full details.
Acceptable use
You agree to use the Services lawfully and with basic good faith toward a small, independent project. When using this Site, you agree not to:
- Attempt to disrupt, overload, or gain unauthorised access to the Site or its infrastructure, including through automated traffic, credential attacks, or exploiting vulnerabilities.
- Scrape, bulk-download, or spider the Site for the purpose of redistributing, reselling, or republishing its Content, or for harvesting data.
- Use our Content or Tools as inputs to build competing commercial products or services.
- Hotlink, frame, or embed our assets in a way that presents them as part of another site.
- Use the Site to transmit anything unlawful, harmful, defamatory, or infringing on others' rights.
- Misrepresent your identity, age, or affiliation when contacting us, subscribing to the Newsletter, or supporting us on Buy Me a Coffee.
- Interfere with the Newsletter or our third-party accounts, or use our name to phish, spam, or deceive others.
Our tools are built for learning. You are responsible for using them honestly and in line with the rules of your school, exam board, or institution — for example, during closed-book assessments.
We reserve the right to block access (see Section 14) from anyone or any automated system that violates this section.
Feedback & suggestions
We genuinely welcome corrections, topic suggestions, and feedback — it is a large part of how the Site improves. If you send us ideas or suggestions (including ideas for future infographics or tools), please understand:
- Submissions are voluntary and uncompensated; there is no expectation of confidentiality or of a response.
- You grant us a worldwide, perpetual, royalty-free licence to use, adapt, publish, or build upon your feedback — for example, by turning a suggested topic into a poster.
- Don't send us content you don't own or aren't allowed to share; you confirm that anything you submit is yours to submit.
- An idea being used is not the same as authorship of the resulting work — our execution of an idea remains ours, and credit is at our discretion.
We will never publish your personal details, and we won't attribute anything to you by name unless you ask us to.
Accuracy & educational disclaimer
Our infographics and tools are designed as study aids and quick references, not as a substitute for textbooks, coursework, or professional and academic guidance.
- STEM subjects are deep, and posters are deliberately simplified for clarity — simplifications can omit caveats, edge cases, and rigour that matter in advanced study.
- While we take care to keep information accurate, occasional errors and typos are possible. Science also moves on — facts and classifications can change after we publish.
- Tool outputs are computed in good faith but should always be sanity-checked before being relied on for anything that matters: exams, lab work, engineering, or safety-critical calculations.
- Found a mistake? Tell us at studywithstem@gmail.com — corrections usually ship with the next release.
The Site and all Content are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. StudyWithSTEM is not liable for decisions made — or actions taken — based solely on content found here. Always cross-check anything that matters against an authoritative source.
Third-party links & services
This Site links to third-party services, including Instagram, X, Buy Me a Coffee, and our email provider, and occasionally to external resources we find useful.
- We don't control these external sites and aren't responsible for their content, availability, security, or practices.
- Visiting them is at your own discretion, and your use of them is subject to their own terms and privacy policies — which we encourage you to read.
- A link is not an endorsement. The presence of a link doesn't mean we stand behind everything on the destination site, and the absence of one doesn't mean the opposite.
- Buy Me a Coffee in particular is where payments occur; see Section 06 for how that relationship works.
If you spot a broken link, or one that now leads somewhere concerning, let us know and we'll review it.
Analytics & cookies
We use Google Analytics to understand which pages and tools are actually used, so we can make better ones. This involves cookies and similar technologies as described in our Privacy Policy.
- We don't run advertising on the Site and don't sell or share analytics data with advertising networks.
- You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time; the Site will keep working without them.
For details on data retention, processing bases, and your rights (including how to object to analytics processing), see the Privacy Policy.
Termination of access
You are free to stop using the Site at any time — simply close the tab, and unsubscribe from the Newsletter whenever you like.
We may, at our sole discretion and without prior notice, restrict, suspend, or terminate access to any part of the Services for conduct that violates these Terms, abuses the Site or its infrastructure, or exposes us or others to legal risk. Where practical, we'll tell you why.
Termination doesn't undo obligations that have already accrued. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including copyright, disclaimers, and limitations of liability — remain in effect afterwards.
Indemnification
To the fullest extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless StudyWithSTEM, its operator, and, where applicable, its contributors from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and reasonable costs (including legal fees) arising out of or related to:
- your use of the Services in violation of these Terms or of any law;
- your misuse, modification, or redistribution of our Content; or
- your violation of any third-party right, including copyright.
This section exists to keep the project viable in the face of bad-faith misuse, not to burden ordinary readers and learners — if you use the Site as intended, it will likely never apply to you.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, StudyWithSTEM and its operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or academic performance, arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Site, its Content, or any linked third-party service.
Where liability cannot be excluded, our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the Services is limited to the greater of: (a) the amount you have contributed to StudyWithSTEM via Buy Me a Coffee in the twelve months before the claim, or (b) USD 10.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages or liability, in which case those limitations won't apply to you to the extent prohibited. Nothing in these Terms affects statutory rights that cannot be waived, including consumer protections that apply to you by law.
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time to reflect changes to the Site, our practices, or the law. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent revision.
- Minor edits (clarifications, typo fixes, renumbering) may be made quietly.
- Material changes — a new limitation, a change to how content may be used, anything that reduces your rights — will be flagged at the top of the page and, where reasonable, announced via the Newsletter or the Site's social accounts.
- Continued use of the Site after changes are posted means you accept the updated terms. If you don't accept them, stop using the Site and unsubscribe from the Newsletter.
- If a change is significant enough to require fresh consent (for example, under data-protection law), we'll ask for it directly rather than assuming it.
Governing law & dispute resolution
These Terms are governed by the applicable local law in the operator's place of residence, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, to the extent such law applies to a Site of this nature.
Before escalating anything, please just talk to us: send an email to studywithstem@gmail.com describing the issue. We commit to reading and responding to good-faith disputes and to trying to resolve them informally — most disagreements about an educational website can be settled in one or two emails. Nothing here limits your right to bring a claim where you live if your local consumer law gives you that right.
Severability & entire agreement
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, that provision will be limited or removed to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will stay in full force and effect.
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Copyrights notice, form the entire agreement between you and StudyWithSTEM regarding the Services — replacing any prior understandings, excepting any separate written licence we may grant you for specific Content.
Our failure to enforce any right or provision (for example, overlooking one breach) is not a waiver of that right or of future breaches. No third party acquires rights under these Terms except as expressly stated.
