The short answers — with the long ones one tap away.
What is the Pomodoro Technique?+
The Pomodoro Technique is a time-management method developed by Francesco Cirillo. You work in focused intervals (traditionally 25 minutes), take a short 5-minute break, and after four work sessions take a longer 15–30 minute break. The aim is to reduce mental fatigue and improve concentration.
How do I use this Pomodoro timer?+
Press Start to begin a work session. When the timer rings, take a short break. After four work sessions, take a long break. You can customise the durations in the settings panel before you start.
Can I change the work and break durations?+
Yes. Open the Advanced Options panel to set custom minutes for work, short break, and long break. You can also choose how many work sessions happen before a long break.
Does the timer make a sound when a session ends?+
Yes. A gentle chime plays when a session finishes. You can mute it with the sound toggle if you prefer silent operation.
Is my data uploaded to a server?+
No. The timer runs entirely in your browser using JavaScript. Your task names and settings stay on your device and are never uploaded.
Can I pause and resume a session?+
Yes. Press Pause to stop the timer temporarily and press Start again to resume from where you left off. The reset button returns the timer to the start of the current session.
What is a Pomodoro cycle?+
A cycle is a set of work sessions followed by a long break. By default, four work sessions make one cycle, but you can change that number in the advanced options.
Is this Pomodoro timer free?+
Yes, it's completely free with no account, no sign-up, and no limit on how many sessions you run.
